To ensure a perfect view of the dial, we use a double anti-reflective coating on the sapphire crystal. What exactly is sapphire crystal? Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite. Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it also makes the durable watch glass even more resistant. This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to be scratched in everyday life. The start and stop function can be operated intuitively using the two push-buttons at 2 and 4 o'clock. The upper one starts and stops the chrono hand. The lower one returns it to 12 o'clock - just like a mechanical chronograph. During the stop process, the left-hand totaliser shows the elapsed minutes. The right-hand totaliser is a 24-hour display that allows you to keep track of the day. The design of the chronograph follows the Bauhaus principle of ‘form follows function’: the pusher at 2 o'clock has the same signal colour as the large chrono hand and the left-hand totaliser (stop minute) to emphasise the connection.

A regatta timer is a timepiece with a countdown function that has been specially developed for regattas. Once set, it shows the helmsman the time remaining until the start. However, a chronograph also helps to plan tactical manoeuvres, make the right decisions or measure the time between course points. Inside the Hamburg Chrono beats the Seiko Mecha-Quartz VK64. This remarkable quartz chronograph movement delights with its tactile feel and smooth, fast hand movement. The pushers of the movement offer a clearly defined pressure sensation and the central chronograph hand ticks in fine 1/5-second increments. The highlight is the 2-point hammer system. After pressing the reset button, all chronograph hands return to zero immediately and synchronised - just like a mechanical chronograph. Thanks to this movement, the date window is also larger. After 60 minutes have elapsed, the chronograph hand stops again.
