Black Friday Luminox XL.3351.1.SET Military Mens Watch
This Luminox meets the demanding military standard of the US Department of Defence. It combines the qualities that Luminox has always stood for: Maximum robustness, extreme and permanent luminosity, extreme water resistance and the best possible readability under all conditions. In addition, however, maximum value retention, maximum precision (rate accuracy +/- 10 sec/year deviation), ease of maintenance and lasting reliability have been achieved with the very special Swiss movement with a battery life of 84 months (7 years!). The typical Luminox CARBONOX™+ case is made of an ultra-light, high-performance bar carbon compound in which carbon fibres make up around 40% of the compound. This guarantees an even more robust and resilient watch case. The tensile strength of CARBONOX™+ is unrivalled. This high-tech material is impact- and scratch-resistant and can withstand any kind of impact to which a watch is exposed. The distinctive, slightly grey, dull matt surface of CARBONOX™+ watch cases and their visible carbon fibre structure are characteristic. The titanium diver's bezel, which is very easy to grip and completely corrosion-free under all conditions, has a 120-click click mechanism, is mounted without play and can only be turned anti-clockwise. The dial and hands are finished with Luminox Light Technology in light blue and orange, a superior permanent luminescent technology that was originally developed for military applications when the Luminox brand was founded and guarantees perfect readability of the watch at all times. The luminous elements glow strongly, permanently and always, they do not require recharging. The different colours (12h position orange, rest light blue) ensure clear orientation and optimum legibility on the dial in the dark. The extra-thick sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inside ensures a scratch-free view - for the life of the watch.
The centrepiece of this watch is a new integrated circuit (IC) that detects a shock and intelligently counteracts it. If a shock occurs, the IC commands the motor to generate a counterforce that holds the hand in place for the duration of the shock. This counter-pulse prevents the pointer from jumping unintentionally and facilitates the manufacture of the pointer by reducing weight restrictions. Compared to conventional hands, HeavyDrive technology can cope with significantly higher imbalances: the tolerance is 200% greater for the second hand and 20% greater for the minute hand. HeavyDrive technology allows the use of larger and clearer hands. If the watch is worn under normal conditions, the reaction time of the IC to shocks is only a few microseconds, i.e. a hundred times faster than the deployment of an airbag. The efficiency of this reaction, which is only triggered when necessary, preserves the power reserve/battery life of the movement. With the PreciDrive thermocompensation technology integrated in the movement calibre, the watch achieves an exceptional rate accuracy of just +/- 10 seconds per year, which corresponds to a deviation of just 0.027 seconds per day. This watch therefore far exceeds the Swiss COSC standard for chronometers and offers the highest rate accuracy currently available for quartz movements.
